Cityofstripes
Between structure and space. Between order and movement.
Cityofstripes explores the urban environment as a fabric of lines, rhythms and shifting perspectives.
Architecture is not depicted, but reconstructed from elemental structures.
Lines condense into surfaces, surfaces become spaces. Through displacement, repetition and layering,
structures emerge that evoke streets, façades and urban landscapes without describing a specific place.
Depending on perspective, their order begins to shift – spaces open up,
condense or appear to continue beyond the visible. The works move between construction and openness,
geometric precision and spatial dynamics.
The city becomes less a subject than a space of perception, in which order, movement
and perspective are continually renegotiated.
